Laura Marie (Ball) Fast



Laura Marie (Ball) Fast, 97, of Crooksville, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care Morrison House in Zanesville.

Laura was born, May 29, 1919 in Morgan County, the daughter of the late, Pearl and Edna (Law) Ball.

She was a beautician, owning her own beauty shop on McKeever Street. She retired from the TRW Plant in Crooksville, where she had worked as a finisher. Laura was a member the VFW 9090 Auxiliary Crooksville-Roseville and a member of the Senior Citizens of Perry County where she greatly enjoyed going on their many trips. She was a past member of the former Wrightstown Bible Christian Church in Amesville where she had served on their board. Most recently she attended the Crooksville Free Methodist Church.

Laura is survived by her sisters, Belva Ball of Crooksville and Rosa Ball Starcher of Newark; her sister-in-law, Carol Ball of Crooksville; her nieces and nephews, Curtis Ball, Gary (Verdella) Ball, Starla Ball Stires, Ray (Brenda) Starcher and Karen Starcher Johnston; her twelve, great-nieces and nephews; her twenty-four, great-great nieces and nephews; her four, great-great-great nieces and nephews and her special nieces and nephews on her late husbands side.

In addition to her parents, Laura is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Bud" Fast who passed away April 20, 1976; her brother, Lenley Ball; her infant brother and her brother-in-law, Harley Starcher.

Family and friends will be received, 2:00-4:00 PM, and 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Laura's life will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 25 at the funeral home with Michael Ring officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hill Cemetery in Amesville.
