Maurice F. Wolfe



Maurice 'Morie' F. Wolfe, 71, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 10:05 AM, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Genesis Healthcare in Zanesville following an extended illness.

He was born April 1, 1946 in Zanesville, the son of the late Albert Wolfe and Florence (Fletcher) Wolfe Dunn.

Morie was a retired truck driver, having been employed by several different trucking companies over the years. He hauled coal for Ralph Allen Coal Company. While living in Colorado many years ago, he drove truck for Coors Beer Company. He was a former member of the Eagles Lodge in Crooksville. Morie was an avid fan of NASCAR and loved the Denver Broncos and his Ford truck.

He served our country during the Vietnam Conflict in the US Army.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Misti Wolfe of Crooksville; his daughter, Brenda Porter of Zanesville; his grandchildren, Dakota, Shade and Chase Wolfe and Mariah and Sierra Hye; his great grandchildren, Indie, Lavender and Niomi; his close companion, Tina Grannon; his former wife, Kay Wolfe and his little dog, Mimi.

In addition to his parents, Morie is preceded in death by his step-father, Frank Dunn.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Morie's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, April 23 at the funeral home with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery with full military honors.
