Misty Dawn (Dale) O'Neal

Misty Dawn O’Neal, 47, of Crooksville died in the late evening hours of October 7, 2023, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born on October 5, 1976, in Zanesville, the daughter of Randy Dale and Connie (Gillette) Parr.

Misty enjoyed the good things in life, shopping, getting her hair done and especially having her nails fixed with her flashy acrylics. She was a cheerleader for her kids and her grandkids, always at their ball games rooting them on to victory.

Above all, Misty was a fighter, she battled cancer for nearly seven years, during that time she never let it beat her down. She fought a long hard fight and did not go gently into that night. She is an inspiration to her family and friends for her fortitude and willingness to continue, regardless of the odds. All those that knew her are saddened by her passing but rejoice in her living.

Left behind to mourn her passing are her husband of thirteen years and partner for 29 years, James O’Neal; her children, Megan (Ryan) McCandless, Shelbie (Josh) O’Neal, Lacie O’Neal, Dean O’Neal and her fur-child, Arlo. She leaves behind a host of siblings, including Michelle, Sherri, Brittany, Callie, Sara, Ryan, Kyle, Ryan and Stevie, as well as her grandbabies, Gunner, Gannon, Greyson and River.

Preceding Misty in death are her paternal grandparents; her aunt, Sheila Dale; her father-in-law James O’Neal and her nephew Dominick.

Friends are invited to pay their respects from 2-4:00 and 6-8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM, Thursday, October 12 at the funeral home. Misty will then be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery in the O’Neal family section.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a memorial gathering after graveside services on Thursday at the VFW Post 9090 in Crooksville.
