Ronnie Joe Dilley

December 22, 1955 — November 10, 2020

Crooksville

Ronnie Joe Dilley, 64, of Crooksville, died in the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the Mount Carmel East Hospital following a two-year battle with cancer.

He was born on December 22, 1955, one of seven children to his late father Ralph Lee Dilley and his mother who survives him, Betty (Stewart) Dilley.

Like his siblings, Ronnie was raised Methodist and throughout his life he still maintained a spiritual connection. He retired as a foreman after many years of employment at Superior Fibers and spent the rest of his years being a good father and an amazing grandfather. Ronnie was a loyal Cleveland Browns fan and had a strong dedication to his Ohio State Buckeyes. He shared a passion for horses (of which he owned several), westerns and episodes of Bonanza. He had a deep appreciation for rock music, whether it be AC/DC, Whitesnake or Bon Jovi.

Even with all his hobbies, and passions, nothing gave Ronnie more joy than that of the smiles from his grandchildren. There was not a time when they did not brighten his mood or his entire day. Through his various cancer treatments, being grandpa gave him strength. Like many selfless people, he could not stomach to tell someone “no”, if he could, he would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed by those he cared for.

Surviving Ronnie in life are mother, Betty Dilley; his son, Shane (Regina) Dilley; his daughter, Sara Dilley; his sisters, Rose (Ron) Snack, Phyllis Dilley, Nora (Lou) Gallis, Sharon (Danny) Barker and April (Dwayne) Amspaugh; his good friend and brother, Lee (Becky) Dilley; his much loved fur child/dog, Rocky and his darling grandchildren, Alex Toth, Ava Dilley, Alaric Dilley and Oliver Dilley.

In addition to his father, Ronnie is preceded in death by his sister, Bonnie Mauler; his nephew Christopher Mauler and the mother of his children, Tammy Aichele.
