Anna J. Weakley

Anna Juanita Weakley, 95, of Roseville, Ohio died at 1:30 PM, Sunday, December 24, 2017 following a very brief illness.

She was born April 5, 1922 in San Toy, Ohio, the daughter of the late Jessee Skeenes and Mary Beatrice (Baron) Skeenes Sowers.

Anna was a retired pottery worker, retiring after 35 years at Ungemach Pottery in Roseville. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Roseville. Anna was admired by her family and everyone that knew her for her fierce independence and her quick wit.

She is survived by her daughter, Jena Weakley of Crooksville; her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry (Belinda Misuraca) Weakley of Zanesville; her sister, Dolores Sowers of Columbus; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and her special friend, Dave Bowers of Roseville.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon S. Weakley who died December 12, 1990; her brothers, Jesse 'Junior', Warren, Hershel and James Skeenes and her sisters, Hazel McCray and Rosemary Manuel.

Family and friends will be received 2-6 PM, Tuesday, December 26 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Anna's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 27 at the funeral home with Wesley Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Mr. Horeb Cemetery near Crooksville.
