Annabelle F. Smith, 89, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 8:28 PM, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a brief illness.
She was born March 15, 1922 in Rosefarm, the daughter of the late Thede and Mary Giles Ross.
Annabelle was a former employee of the Crooksville China Company and Essex Wire in Zanesville. She was a member of Rosefarm Church of Christ and a charter member of the Crooksville-Roseville VFW Post 9090.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy & Ronald Rosser and Barbara & Kip Wood all of Roseville; her sons and daughter-in-law, Terry Smith of Malta and Dan & Dee Smith of Crooksville; sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; a special niece, Mary Ann Mitchell of Zanesville and sisters-in-law, Helen Schooley, Claudine Appleman, Beulah Ross and Betty Ross.
In addition to her parents, Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Smith who passed away September 8, 1988; her son, Teddy Smith; daughters-in-law, Bobbi Lou Smith and Pat Smith Gaunder; her grandson, Geoff Smith; sisters, Marvene, Ruby, and Lillian and brothers, Albert, Elmer "Toe", John and Dick.
The Smith family will receive visitors 2-8 PM, Friday, June 17 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Annabelle's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 18 at the funeral home with her special friend and coffee buddy, Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Burial will follow next to her beloved husband in St. Joseph Cemetery at south Crooksville.
