Barbara Rose Dickerson

Barbara Rose Dickerson, 86, of Crooksville, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior at 12:50 PM, Monday, June 24, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born December 28, 1937 in Crooksville, the eldest daughter of the late B.J and Emma (nee: Dalrymple) Redfern.

Barbara was a homemaker. She devoted her life and energy to caring for her family. She was a magnificent cook and prepared homemade desserts for her husband and children every day. Also, she enjoyed sewing, making many of the clothing for her children as they were growing up. Barbara was a devote Catholic and was very active in her home parish, Church of The Atonement Catholic Church in Crooksville where, in her younger days, was a member of the choir where she sang many solos for various occasions and helped with many church functions. For many years, Barbara was a volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She will be sadly missed by her children and their spouses, Beth & William Rizer, Tim and Kathy Dickerson, Paula Anderson, Tom and Beth Dickerson, Ronda and Perry Miller, Andy and Sonia Dickerson; her grandchildren, Dustin (Mandy) Rizer, Brandi (Mitch) Pierce, Tim (Cassie) Dickerson, Leslie (JR) King, Ryan (Liza) Hensley, Heather (Ryan) Geiger, Adam (Kate) Dickerson, Noah Dickerson (Jaelynn Nelson) Cassandra Kenny, Krystle (Andrew) Solomon, Erica (Scott) Houk, Janelle (Kyle) Thomas, Jennifer (Ben) Buckliew, Nathan (Tracy) Miller, Daniel (Heidi) Miller, Ashlee (Jared) Nicholson, Abby Dickerson, Alison (Dylan) McCoy and Lexie Dickerson; her great grandchildren, Hadley, Braydon, Zoey, Lilly, Alaina, Audri, Gracie, Kenneth, Logan, J.W., Jace, Shay, Ava, Grayson, James, Alaina, Ryan, Elias, Lyndsey, J.J. and Madison and her sister, Alice Redfern.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney M. Dickerson, who passed away December 24, 2020; her grandson, Jimmy Dickerson, her twin grandsons, Luke and Alex; her niece, Lisa Nelson; her son-in-law, Mark Anderson and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dwight and Bertha Dickerson.

The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 AM, Thursday, June 27 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 309 N. Main St., New Lexington where Rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Thursday at St. Rose with Father Todd Lehigh as celebrant.
