Barbara J. Procacci, 72, of Vine Street, New Lexington, went to be with the Lord at 7:15 A.M Thursday, April 16, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends after an extended illness. Barbara was born October 31, 1936 in Crooksville to the late Fred Bateson, Sr. and Frances Guest Bateson Parsons. She was a former pottery worker, former employee of Essex Wire and later retired from Perco in New Lexington. She was Christian by faith. She is survived by step-daughters, LuAnn (John) King of Thornville, Connie Metzger of Thornville, Debbie (Steve) Stepp of Thornville and Toni Scaduto of New Lexington; step-son, Johnny Procacci of New Lexington; sister, Kay Wolfe of Crooksville; brother, Roger Bateson of McLuney; sister-in-law, Connie Bateson of Tridelphia; a special niece, Brenda Porter; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Procacci, who passed away in July 16, 2007; her parents; sister, Shirley Hamm; brother, Fred Bateson, Jr.; and a niece, Kim Hamm. Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Monday, April 20, 2009 with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery. Gifts of food may be taken to the Crooksville Eagles on Monday, April 20 beginning at 7 A.M. for an afternoon of lunch and fellowship following services.
