Bernice Jean Brown, 86, of Crooksville passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster following an extended illness.
She was born March 4, 1931 in Rosefarm, the daughter of the late, George Sr. and Elsie Strohl Lemity.
Bernice was a homemaker, raising her children and caring for her grandchildren. She was a member of the Oakfield Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Sr. (Lucy) Eveland of Crooksville; her sister, Elsie Holcombe of Crooksville; her daughter-in-law, Annette Eveland; her sisters-in-law, Linda Allen Lemity and Margaret Nixon; her friend, Larry Elliott; her grandchildren, Ronald (Lilly) Eveland, Shawn Eveland, Tiffany Hillis, Kyle (Janice) Eveland and Cody Eveland; her step-grandchildren, Barbie Wright and Nick Neff and her great-grandchildren, Colton Eveland, Brandon Eveland, Brooke Hillis, Allie Hillis, Natalie Eveland and Colin Eveland.
In addition to her parents, Bernice is preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Eveland who died in 1967; her second husband, Joseph Brown who died in 1995; her son, Gary Eveland who died in 2010; her sisters, Bonnie McPherson and Emma Trick; her brothers, George Lemity, Jr., Raymond Lemity, Arthur Lemity and Dean Lemity and her sisters-in-law, Madge Lemity and Maxine Lemity.
The family would like to wish a special Thank You to the staff at Genesis Healthcare in New Lexington for their tender care of Bernice.
In keeping with Bernice's wishes, no public viewing or services will be observed. She will be laid to rest between her husband, Floyd and her son, Gary in Crooksville Cemetery.
