Billy B. Baker, 84, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 7:16 AM, Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville following an extended illness.
He was born August 5, 1929 in Roseville, the son of the late Clarence and Tovena Grant Baker.
Bill was a former limestone miner at the Columbia Cement Plant. He had served our country in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Garnett P. Hockingberry Baker; his daughter and son-in-law, Creta 'Peach' and Joe Burkhart of Crooksville; his sons and daughters-in-law, Alan 'Butch' Baker, Tim and Pam Baker and Kim and Debbie Baker, all of Crooksville; his grandchildren, Dash and Ashlee McNeal, Ginger and Jim Thomas, Alex Baker, Bailey Baker, and Teresa and Jeremy Joseph and his great grandchildren, Jena Thomas, Jera Thomas, Kipplyn McNeal, Krew McNeal and Tyler Joseph.
Family and friends will be received 5:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 17 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Private burial will take place.
Contributions may be made in memory of Bill to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, OH 43701. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
