Brian E. 'Dog' Donaldson, 57, of Zanesville, formerly of Crooksville passed away at 1:52 PM, Sunday, March 3, 2013 at OSU Hospital in Columbus following an extended illness.
Brian was born June 24, 1955 in Zanesville, the son of Gerald Donaldson of Crooksville and the late Gwen Moore Donaldson.
He was a former employee of Cesco Plant Refractories Division of Ferro Corporation in Crooksville and, more recently, was the maintenance supervisor at John McIntire Library in Zanesville. Brian was a member of Maple Ave. Christian Church and Crooksville Eagles Aerie #1979, both in Crooksville and the Ohio Archaelogical Society.
In addition to his father, Brian is survived by his companion, Carla Roberts; his beloved dogs, Buddy and Molly; sister, Janis (Michael) Buckley of Lancaster; brothers, Jay (Angela) Donaldson of Crooksville, John Keith (Brenda) Donaldson of New Albany and Ralph (Tammy) Donaldson of Crooksville; uncle Don Moore of Washington D.C.; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Gwen.
Family and friends will be received 6-9 PM, Tuesday, March 5 and 12-3 and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, March 6 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where Crooksville Eagles 1979 will hold services at 8 PM, Wednesday. Funeral services and a celebration of Brian's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 7 with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery near Crooksville.
In honor of Brian receiving the gift of life with an organ transplant ten years ago, the family has asked that donations be made in memory of Brian to Lifeline of Ohio, 770 Kinnear Rd., Attn: Suite 200, Columbus, OH 43212. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
