Charles David "Chuck" Williams, 80, of Crooksville passed away at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville following an extended illness.
Chuck was born February 6, 1931 in Crooksville, Ohio, the son of the late Ted and Naomi Wolfe Williams.
Mr. Williams was retired from Ferro-Alloy Corporation. He was Methodist by faith. Chuck served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Crooksville Eagles Aerie 1979, the Crooksville American Legion Post 222 and Crooksville-Roseville VFW Post 9090.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mollie Moore Williams; his daughters, Vicky (Claypool) and her husband, Wally Nelson of Crooksville, Bonnie (Claypool) Reed and her significant other, Randy Rodgers of New Lexington and Danya (Williams) and her husband, Mike Dosch of Hopewell; his grandchildren, Dr. Neely Nelson, Libby (Travis) Avery, Hilary (Greg) Gallagher, Matt Reed and his significant other, Nicole Broseus, Eric (Misty) Reed, LeAnne Dosch, Brandi Dosch, Levi Dosch and Shawn Dosch; his great grandchildren, Joshua Munoz, Caulin Wilson, Sage Reed, Daisi Reed, Teagan Gallagher, Tapp Gallagher, Trigg Gallagher and Kedrin Avery and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his son, Michael D. Williams; his brother, Douglas Williams, Sr.; his sister, Lela Tucker; his sister-in-law, Emma Kay Dunn and his brother-in-law, Bill H. Moore.
The Williams family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Friday, July 15 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and celebration of Chuck's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 16 at the funeral home with Stan McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in Iliff Cemetery, McLuney with full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 3380 Tremont Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43221. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
