Claudine E. Appleman, 98, of Malta died on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at her son's home following a long well-lived life.
She was born October 6, 1919 in Milligan's Bend, Perry County, the daughter of the late George Walter and Ica (Snide) Rosser.
Retiring from Essex Wire in Zanesville and maintaining her membership at Iliff United Methodist Church-just up the road from where she was born, Claudine was a feisty woman, who lived life to the fullest. When she wasn't cashing in on her winnings, Claudine was spending her time being more domesticated, whether it be raising her children, caring for her many many grandchildren, great-grandchildren or even her great-great-grandchildren. Always one to require a large backyard garden, Claudine would always put visitors to work, pulling weeds or picking green beans. Claudine also enjoy her alone time, much of which she spent relaxing and working on hundreds of crossword puzzles. She was a loving woman who will be missed by her entire family and friends in Perry and Morgan Counties.
Surviving Claudine in life is her daughter, Mary Lou (James) Campbell; her sons, George (Dana) Smith, Ronnie (Dee) Smith, Randy (Vicki) Smith; her step-sons, David Appleman and Steve (Cathy) Appleman; her nurse, Jody Woneymaker and her aid, Pam Gavin.
