Claudine M. Wilson, 92, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 1:19 PM, Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, following a sudden illness.
Claudine was born January 15, 1921 in Crooksville, the daughter of the late Claude C. and Muriel Maxwell Masterson.
She was a 1939 graduate of New Lexington High School, attended Meredith Business School and Ohio University. She retired from the Ohio Power Company after nearly thirty years. Claudine was a member of the First Hope United Methodist Church where she was very active and held many offices. She was a member and past matron of the former Starlight Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Crooksville which has now merged with Carnation Chapter 167 of New Lexington. In addition, she was past president of District 27 O.E.S. and past Grand Esther of Grand Chapter O.E.S.
Claudine is survied by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. and Donald Landerman of Somerset; her sister, Gloria Masterson of Somerset; her brother, Rex Masterson of Somerset; her brother-in-law, Delmer Miller of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Hope (Gary) Fisher, Dawn (Rory) Thomas and Jon (Jodie Sagan) Landerman; six great-granchildren, Mallory Fisher, Aubrey Heavener, Hallie Landerman, Mitchell Thomas, Tyler Landerman and Nathan Landerman; and two great-great grandchildren, Payton Fisher and Parker Heavener.
In addition to her parents, Claudine is preceded in death by her husband Paul F. Wilson who passed September 10, 1993; her daughter, Connie Sue Wilson who passed May 8, 2009; her sisters, Janet Miller and Joan Puterbaugh; her brother, Max Masterson who was killed in Belgium in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II; brothers-in-law, Joe Puterbaugh and Ralph Masterson; and sister-in-law, Nancy Masterson.
Family and friends will be received 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, July 19, 2013 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Claudine's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, with Reverend Gay E. Blau officiating. She will be laid to rest in Crooksville Cemetery next to her husband and daughter. Following the service, the First Hope United Methodist Church will be hosting a luncheon in Claudine's memory.
