In Loving Memory of Cody Lee Slack

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cody Lee Slack, loving son, father, brother, and friend. Cody's unexpected departure from this world on January 24, 2024, has left a void in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. The family would encourage anyone who is suffering to reach out for help.

Cody was born on March 20, 1989, in Durham, North Carolina. He was the treasured son of Richard "Rick" Slack and Connie Brown and had the loving support of his step-mother, Debra Hubbard, and step-father, Douglas "Buddy" Brown. Cody's zest for life was embodied in his roles as a dedicated father to his children, Katara Slack and Jett Thomas Lee Slack. He cherished his time with them and went above and beyond to ensure their happiness and well-being.

Cody's passion for the outdoors was unmatched. He found solace and peace while fishing, and the beauty of nature always brought him a sense of joy. He had an unwavering love for his hobbies, especially his avid support for the Ohio State Buckeyes. His enthusiasm for sports was contagious, and he enjoyed engaging in spirited conversations with fellow fans.

Professionally, Cody excelled as an IT Technician, showcasing his expertise and knowledge in computer science and engineering. He possessed a remarkable talent for building and customizing his own computers, a testament to his unwavering determination and commitment to his craft. Cody's dedication to his work extended beyond his employers, Cooper Standard and Value Auto Auction, as he took great pride in his ability to buy and sell cars, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit.

Cody will be remembered for his warm smile, infectious laughter, and compassionate nature. His absence will forever be felt by his brother, Dustin Massingill, his grandparents, Georgia Carol (John) Rose and extended family members who were fortunate to share in his journey.

Cody is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leonard and JoAnn Massingill.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Cody's life will be held on January 27, 2024, at the Goebel Funeral Home. The public viewing will commence at 12:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm.
