Diana Kay Savage, 62, of Somerset, Ohio died at 9:49 PM, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at OSU Wexner Medical center due to complications of COVID-19.
She was born October 12, 1958 in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Joseph Mattis and Jean (nee: Pratt) Mattis Keister.
Diana worked a short time at some of the local potteries but after having a stroke at the age of 30, her activities were somewhat limited. She enjoyed playing cards, helping the Amish folks with their baked goods and working crossword and word search puzzles, of which had become quite an expert. Diana dearly loved her entire family, especially her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and her beloved Chuckie. She was a member of Rushing Wind Biker Church, Zanesville where she and Chuck participated in many of the bike runs, following the group in their minivan hauling things for the bikers. She was also a member of Somerset Legion Post 58 Auxiliary. Diana was well known in Somerset as she was always here, there and everywhere in her motorized chair, keeping a close eye on the community.
Left behind to mourn her passing is her life companion of 17 years, Charles Chipman with whom she was united in God; her children, Diana (Tony) Bateson, David (Steven Maxwell) Savage, Josh (Chelsie Metzger) Savage and Tim (Trevor Kinney) Savage; her siblings, Glenda Monty, Joe (Deb) Mattis and Darren (Gerry) Mattis; her grandchildren, Taylor and William Lyons, Alyssa Burns, Nathan Bateson, Kash, Keeley, Austin, Alayna, and Kameron Savage; her great grandchildren, Jensen Lyons, Liam Bateson, Luke and Andrew Burns and Kason Wolfe and her nieces and nephews, Michelle Monty, Jessica Tobin, Joey Mattis and Derek Mattis.
Welcoming Diana into her Eternal Home, in addition to her parents, is her great granddaughter, Raegan Lyons; her stepfather, Lester Keister and her brother-in-law, James Monty.
