Earl Eugene Eveland

January 28, 1939 — July 12, 2021

Crooksville

Earl E. Eveland, 82, of Crooksville, peacefully passed into eternal life following a years long battle with dementia.

He was born one of three children on January 28, 1939, in Crooksville, the son of the late Dennis and C. Opal (Danielson) Eveland.

After leaving high school at 17, Earl immediately enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country from 1955-1959. Following his discharge from the armed forces, Earl went to work to support his family as an auto mechanic for Shelton’s Auto in New Lexington. He went on to retire from LEMPCO as a machine operator where he operated giant laser cutters to machine down giant pieces of rolled steel. In his spare time, Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, paint-by-number, and puzzle books. He was a self-taught carpenter where he added on to his family’s home throughout the years. He was a devoted and caring grandfather and other than the Boston Celtics, those kids were his favorite to watch. His family stated that Earl was a genuinely good guy, he would give the shirt off his back to anyone needing help.

Left behind to mourn his passing are his children, Sandra Thompson, Rick (Olive) Eveland, Sarah (Thomas) Dalrymple and Tina Monroe; his siblings, Ruby Corbett, and Roger (Duanna) Eveland; his grandchildren, Dennis Thompson, John (Maria) Thompson, Jennifer Thompson and Clayton (Brittany) Dalrymple and his great-grandchildren; Kobe, Brayden, Jace, Jaxon, Wyatt, Aubree and Aliviana.

In addition to his parents, Earl is welcomed into eternal life by his late wife, Roberta (Klingler) Eveland who died  nearly one year before him on July 24, 2020; his good friend Harry Gibbs and his brother-in-law, Edward Corbett.

Friends are invited to pay respects from 6-8:00 PM, Friday, July 16, 2021 and from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St. Crooksville. Funeral services will be rendered 1:30 PM, Sunday, July 18 at the funeral home where Pastor Clyde Boring will preside.
