Edward Everett Shoemaker, 70 of New Lexington, Ohio, formerly of Crooksville  and Washington State died at 9:49 PM, Friday, May 28, 2021 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville.

He was born December 1, 1950 in Zanesville, the eldest son of the late Carl G. and Patricia J. (nee: Moore) Shoemaker.

Ed was a 1969 graduate of Crooksville High School. Following his graduation, he served his country in the 101st Airborne Division of The US Army in the Vietnam War. After returning home from the military, Ed attended Ohio University in Athens.  He later relocated to Graham, Washington and worked as a foreman in the Forestry Division for the State of Washington.  He enjoyed coaching youth sports and was a music lover.

Left behind to mourn his passing are his sons, Ian (Jenel) Shoemaker , Javid (Chelsea) Shoemaker,  Carlin (Courtney) Shoemaker,  Eli (Mackensie) Shoemaker; his grandchildren, Kai, Quinn, Lucy, Vivian and Sloan Shoemaker; his siblings, Carla (Michael) Sherlock and Mark Shoemaker.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ed will be cremated and his remains will be returned to his sons in Washington.
