Ella Jean Ebert

Ella Jean Ebert, 82, of Crooksville, died in the evening of Monday, October 7, 2024, following injuries sustained from a roadside accident near her home. 

Jean was born one of seven children on August 23, 1942, to the late Harold and Opal (Beall) Bonifield.

Jean was an incredibly hard worker, she spent many years as a machinist for Rockwell Industries, an employee of the Hull Pottery and a cook at Maggie’s Restaurant. In her retirement years, Jean continued her work as Grandma Jean at Pammy’s private daycare. She practiced her Christian faith within the walls of Iliff Methodist Church in Crooksville where she enjoyed spending hours fellowshipping. Jean had many hobbies, including cooking, being a die-hard fan of OSU Buckeye football, swinging on her front porch and watching the hummingbirds fly around. Above all else, her greatest pleasure and love was spending precious time with her dear children and darling grandchildren, these were the moments and time which filled her with the greatest joy. 

Left behind to mourn her passing are her children; Ronda (Gary) Pettit and Terry (Pam) Ebert; her siblings, Betty Johnson (Ron White), Jane Poling, Marjorie Hammers; her sister-in-law, Brenda Ebert her grandchildren, Austin (Ashley) Ebert and Lacie Ebert (Gunner Lindell); her great-grandson, Archer Wayne Ebert, as well as her favorite furry friend, Harley.

In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald L. Ebert who died November 8, 2002; her sisters-in-law, Jo Anne Higginbotham and Marlene Williams and her brothers, Harold “Butch” Bonifield, Chuck Bonifield and David Bonifield.

Friends and family are welcome to pay their final respects from 6-8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 10th at the funeral home with Pastor Marc Caton rendering services. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery next to her husband.
