Only 54 days following the passing of his dearly beloved wife, Frank 'Jim' Stringer joined her eternally. Jim lost his battle with cancer and passed from this world in the evening hours of Friday, January 18, 2019 at Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care Morrison House.
Jim was born the only son on June 1, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frank and Annie (McTaghe) Stringer.
Jim retired from Commercial Wire Rope Supply Co. in Michigan as a manufacturing and assembly supervisor. Following their retirement, Jim and Dee both moved to Corning from Detroit, so they could spend their days in the rolling hills of Perry County. Jim was an avid woodworker and found great pleasure in creating marvelous pieces from the natural gifts around him. He will be remembered by his family as a great man, a man who took service seriously. He was the fierce guardian of his wife and he took pride in guarding the freedoms offered here in the United States, by faithfully and honorably serving in the U.S, Army during the Vietnam War. His bravery and sacrifice will be remembered.
Surviving Jim are his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Kirk Small; his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Vicki Stringer and his grandchildren, Courtney and Todd.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his darling wife, Dolores June Stringer, who died, November 25, 2018; his grandson, Matthew Small and his sister, Neile Finkbiner.
Jim requested that he be cremated following his passing so that he may be joined eternally with his beloved Dee.
