Gary A. Lawyer

Gary Alan Lawyer, 59, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at his residence.

He was born April 24, 1957 in Zanesville, the son of the late Bert Lawyer, Jr. and Geneva (Jenny) Stephens Lawyer Simmons.

Gary was a former truck driver and a former employee of Auto Zone and Circle K. He served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his daughters, Marinda (Eric) Tennant of Beverly and Mandy (Gary) Brown of Vienna, West Virginia; his step-daughters, Shelly (Bob) Anderson of Deavertown and Susan Riggs of Crooksville; his son, Gary Alan (April) Lawyer, II of Marietta; his sisters, Joyce Gleason of Lancaster, Holly (Curt) Houk of McConnelsville, Melanie Miller of Crooksville and Carole (Brad) Browning of Akron; his five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Diamond.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela (Locke) Lawyer who passed away February 4, 2005; his step-granddaughter, Sara Riggs and his sisters, Janet Butcher and Judy Boling.

Family and friends will be received 1:00-4:00 PM, Sunday, July 31, 2016 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Gary's life will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Cremation will follow the service. His cremated remains will be buried in Crooksville Cemetery at a later date.

At the family's request, in lieu of flowers contributions towards Gary's final expenses would be appreciated.
