With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gloria Jean Bateson, age 75, of Crooksville, Ohio. An adored wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Gloria brought love and light into the lives of all who knew her. She peacefully departed on March 22, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness.
Gloria was born on December 10, 1948, in Zanesville, Ohio to her loving parents, Robert Swick and Lillian (Goodfellow) Swick. A dedicated worker, she spent 26 years at PCC, retiring from her role in FPI repair. Her commitment and hard work endeared her to colleagues and made her an invaluable part of the workplace.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons James (Ginger) Thomas, Andrew Bateson, and Shane Bateson, and a host of grandchildren including Jera, Jena, Dakota, and Liam. Her siblings - Nora (Rob) Stephenson, Cindy Thomas, Wilma Ratliff, Mary (Ted) Dickson, Kenny (Paula) Swick, and William (Todd) Swick, will forever hold Gloria in their hearts.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Swick and Lillian (Goodfellow) Swick, her first husband James Thomas and her second husband, Roger Bateson, and her brother-in-law Jeff Ratliff.
Gloria's family has chosen to mourn her passing privately and their love for her and her legacy will live on in their hearts forever. May her gentle spirit and loving nature be remembered always by those whose lives were touched by her presence.
