Harold Charles "Chuck" Bookman

Harold Charles "Chuck" Bookman, Jr. 64 of Newark, passed away 9:25 AM, Monday, August 26, 2013 at Genesis Healthcare New Lexington Center following a lengthy illness. He was born March 9, 1949 in Redfield, the son of Harold Charles Bookman and Helen (Embrey) Bookman.

Chuck served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict and a former member of Hubbard Lodge # 220 Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio. He was the owner and operator of Namkoob Software Company and taught computer classes. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and mushroom hunting. Chuck enjoyed the serenity of nature and drinking tea on his front porch. He was a loving and caring father, brother and grandfather who cherished the time he spent with his family.

Chuck is survived by two sons: Charles Michael "Mike" & Katie Bookman of Las Vegas and Jeremy "Jake" Bookman of Newark; two grandchildren: Cambriel Kirkendall and Abby Bookman; two sisters: Donna & Jerry Potts of Willoughby and Bonnie & Ray Seals of New Lexington; three brothers: Earl "Butch" Bookman of Syracuse, Rusty & Lynn Bookman of Racine and Brian Bookman of Cambridge; and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by two brothers: Jerry & Rodney Bookman; two sisters: Anna Taylor and Sue Hammer and three infant sisters: Carol Jean Bookman, Martha Jane Bookman and Annabelle Leigh Bookman.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 30, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 7:15 PM at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 North Buckeye Street where Hubbard Lodge will conduct Masonic Services at 7:15 PM. Funeral Services will follow at 7:30 PM with Pastor John Sellers officiating. A caring cremation will take place and burial will follow, at a later date, in Mount Horeb Cemetery with local American Legion Posts and The United States Army conducting Full Military Honors.
