Harold Red Hubler

February 24, 1927 — January 11, 2012

Harold 'Red' Hubler, 84, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at his home after a long illness with his family at his side.

Harold was born February 24, 1927 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles Blake and Irene Dunlap Hubler.

Mr. Hubler had served our country in the US Navy during WW2. He retired from Central Ohio Coal Company. Red was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge #368 of East Fultonham, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, American Legion Post 29 of Zanesville and Fair Oaks Baptist Church, Zanesville.

He leaves behind his second wife, Carolyn Klingler Lindimore Hubler; his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sue Hubler of Georgia; daughters and son-in-law, Lee and Carl Ponto of North Carolina and Evelyn Hubler and Holly Mercer both of Canton, Ohio; his sister, Aileene Lohr of Virginia; his step-children, Don and Wanda Lindimore of Zanesville, Patty and Dick Strathern of Oregon, Barb and Doug Williams, Alice and Bob Stoneburner and Bill Lindimore all of Crooksville; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Red was preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Wilma Dawn English Hubler who passed away in 1999; one sister, Bessie Augustine; one brother, Duane Hubler and step-daughter, Amanda Lindimore Hartley.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Friday, January 13 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where Masonic services will be held at 8:00 PM. Visitors will be received beginning at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 14 at Fair Oaks Baptist Church, 1025 Woodlawn Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services and a celebration of Harold's life will be held at 11:00 AM at the church with Rev. Raleigh Ragland and Rev. Mark Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park with full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville or Fair Oaks Baptist Church at the above address. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
