Harold Pennington, 70 of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 3:33 PM, Monday, July 25, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville following an extended illness.

Harold was born July 27, 1940 in Lee County, Virginia, the son of the late William and Bonnie Smith Pennington.

He was a coal miner and retired from Peabody Coal Company. Harold was a member of UMWA and a forty year member of Crooksville Eagles Aerrie 1979 where he served as a trustee.

Mr. Pennington is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Russell Pennington; his children, Debbie (Keith) King of Crooksville, Dwayne(Tammy) Pennington of Marblehead, Lisa (Jeff) Balka of Utica, Mark(Stephanie) Pennington of New Lexington, Bill(Angie) Pennington of Corning, April Pennington of Roseville, Paula Kaiser(Ed Glover) of Marblehead, Scott(Cindy) Ewart of Crooksville, Sheila(Phillip) Kish of Roseville, Stephanie Sklenar of Marietta and Marcy Bell of Tiltonsville; his brothers, Curt(Carolyn) Pennington of Virginia, Billy Pennington of Texas and Gary(Patsy) Pennington of Virginia; his sisters, Lois Garrison and Peggy Dorton both of Virginia and Shirley(Bud) Mullin of Lebanon; 33 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Betsy Allen Pennington.

The Pennington family will receive visitors 5-6 PM, Wednesday, July 27 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Crooksville Eagles Aerie 1979 will hold services at 6 PM with funeral services and a celebration of Harold's life immediately following with Pastor John Sellers officiating. Cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Perry County Cancer Alliance, P.O. Box 724, New Lexington, Ohio 43764. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
