Harold Lloyd Willison, 84, of Crooksville passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital Critical Care Unit.
He was born in McLuney, April 2, 1929 to the late Charles W. and Mabel Brown Willison.
Lloyd was an electrician by trade for Columbia Cement for over thirty years and the owner and operator of Lloyd's Tavern in Crooksville. He served our country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and, prior to that, he played for the St. Louis Browns baseball team. Lloyd was a member of the VFW Post# 9090 Crooksville-Roseville, American Legion Post# 222 of Crooksville, the Perry County and the Mcluney Baseball Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his son Steve Willison of Crooksville and his grandson Christopher Willison.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Gwendalyn Smith Willison who passed away January 30, 2010; his five brothers, Charles, Paul, Dalbert, Nial and Edwin Willison; his six sisters, Virginia Atkinson, Evelyn Abrams, Ann Kuhn, Ina Henning, Madge Wolfe and Noamia Cohagen.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM, at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Lloyd's life will be Friday January 31st at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor John Kessler officiating. Burial will follow at Iliff Cemetery with full military honors.
