Heather Malissa Hockman, 46, of Somerset lost a years long courageous battle with kidney disease at Fairfield Medical Center on Thursday, February 11, 2021.
She was born one of three children to her much-loved parents, Melbourne and Linda (nee: Woods) Peters on March 5, 1974.
Even through his sickness, Heather always persevered in being the best wife and mother she could be. She was a dedicated daughter to her father, the two spent many days at the car cruises throughout New Lexington. She even had the unique opportunity of spending hours assisting young Cub Scouts as a Den Mother. Heather was the holiday baker, her cooking and baking treats filled her family’s homes during the holiday season. Like most people, she enjoyed connecting with people through Facebook, getting to see peoples lives and sharing the happenings of her own.
When boiled down, Heather was a family person. Devoted to her parents, siblings, children and husband, Heather shared her special and kind-hearted nature with those she loved. She was so close to her family that they are also her neighbors, the family shared company and land. Her presence will forever be missed, and her character will be honored by her family.
In addition to her parents, Melbourne and Linda Peters, left behind to mourn her passing is her husband of 26 years, Mark Hockman; her children, Linda Hockman and Caleb Hockman; her siblings, Amanda Nelson and Jeremiah Peters, Sr.; her nieces and nephews, Cheyenne Nelson, Dakota Nelson, Jeremiah Peters, Jr. and Loretta Peters and her chihuahua children, Mr. Mouse and Little Girl.
Preceding Heather in death are her maternal grandparents, John and Bonnie Woods and her aunt and uncle, Virginia Penn and Vernon Woods.
