Homer Edward Shull

Homer Edward Shull, 74, of Crooksville, Ohio died peacefully at his home, the place he loved so much at 10:50 PM, Thursday, August 26, 2021 with his beloved wife by his side after fighting a long, hard battle with cancer.

He was born October 24, 1946 in Johnstown, the son of the late Homer and Margaret (nee: Foor) Shull.

Homer was retired from Lucent Technologies in Columbus where he was a supervisor.  He was an avid hunter of deer but fishing was his real passion, always working to catch the ‘big one’.  He dearly loved his secluded home and land where he and his wife enjoyed the peace and tranquility of Perry County country life.

Left behind to mourn his passing is his wife of 39 years, Janis (nee: Smith) Shull; his children and their spouses, Tawni (Cris) Hess, Taryn (Opie) Smith, Trina (John) McDermit and Daniel (Sherri) Shull; his siblings, Sandy Woodside, Pam (Phil) Smith, Diane Kellett, Danny (Kendra) Shull and Charlie (Sheila) Shull and many grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by his son, Cristin Shull.

In keeping with Homer’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation.  His family will hold a gathering at a later date to celebrate Homer’s life in their own special way.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to FairHope Hospice for kindly assisting in Homer’s care through his final days.
