Howard M. Tewksbury

March 15, 1925 — August 14, 2010

Howard M. Tewksbury, 85, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 5:25 PM, Saturday, August 14, 2010 at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born March 15, 1925 in Zanesville, the son of the late Finley McKinley Tewksbury and Ruth Beatrice Pettit Tewksbury. Howard was a former pottery worker and employee of Wiseman's Dairy.
He was a self-employed contractor and owner of his own woodcraft shop producing beautiful furniture and other woodcrafts together with his wife, Pat who painted the artistic designs on the items. Mr. Tewksbury was a member of First Hope United Methodist Church where he was a trustee and a member of the Administrative Board and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia J. Heskett Tewksbury whom he married on February 12, 1949; his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Kevin Cale of Chester, Virginia; his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Elaine Tewksbury of Huntingburg, Indiana; his grandchildren, Michael (Marci) Tewksbury, Jeffrey (Stacey) Tewksbury, Lindsay Cale and Kylie Cale; his great grandchildren, Lily, Dax, Finn, Kaylah, Alivia, and Isobel Tewksbury and a host of close friends.

The Tewksbury family will receive visitors 4-8 PM, Wednesday, August 18 at First Hope United Methodist Church, 102 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville where funeral services and a celebration of Howard's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 19 with Pastor Gay Blau officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Hope United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 201, Crooksville, Ohio 43731, envelopes will be available at the church.
