James Lewis Fisher, 85, of Crooksville died at 2:40 PM, Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Genesis Healthcare and Rehabilitation in New Lexington following a brief illness.
He was born on May 20, 1932 in Cannelville, the son of the late Lewis and Alice Dozer Fisher.
James served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In addition, He retired from PCC Airfoils as a gauger. James was an avid fisherman and very much enjoyed playing euchre.
He is survived by his son, Jeff Fisher of Crooksville; his special friend, Waneta Wheeler; his grandchildren, Adrienne Fisher, Amber Lewis (Josh) and Will Fisher and his great-grandchildren, Tyson Fisher and Hazel Lewis.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Colburn Fisher who died August, 13, 1982; his daughter, Lori Stanley who died February 24, 1996 and his brothers, Calvin John Fisher, Harry Fisher and Don Fisher.
Family and friends will be received, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM and 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of James' life will be 11:00 AM, Friday, December 8 at the funeral home with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Burial will follow in Iliff Cemetery in Crooksville with full military honors provided by the US Army Honor Guard and the local Veteran's Organizations.
