James D. O'Neal

James D. O'Neal, 63, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away at 1:45 AM, Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Genesis Healthcare in Zanesville following an extended illness.

Jim was born April 30, 1952 in Columbus, the son of the late John and Anna Mae (Saxton) O'Neal.

He retired after 29 years of employment at Gould Foil Division in McConnelsville. Jim served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Debbie Bankes O'Neal; his daughters, Wendy Wright (Jason Bowman) of Parkersburg WV, McKenzie(Jeffrey) McLean, Heather (Robert) Dolen, all of Zanesville and Heidi (Cory) Newman of Virginia; his son, James D. (Misty) O'Neal II of Zanesville; his sisters, Betty Manring of Roseville and Carol Taylor of Crooksville; his brother-in-law, Floyd Thorp of Crooksville; his grandchildren, Kadie, Justin, Megan, Brooklyn, Amanda, Brandee, Shelbie, Libby, R.J., Gabe, Lacie, James Dean III, Vinny, Cory and Luke and his great grandchildren, Gannon, Gunner and Gannon.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Peggy Thorp and Mary Tittle; his brothers, William K. O'Neal and John O'Neal and his brothers-in-law, Daniel Manring, Melvin Tittle and Gene Taylor.

Family and friends will be received 4:00-8:00 PM, Monday, November 9 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Jim's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 10 at the funeral home with Steve Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery near Crooksville.
