James Howard Redmond, 71, of Roseville, Ohio passed away at 3:07 AM, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville following an extended illness.
Jim was born February 15, 1942 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Howard and Mary Coleman Redmond.
Jim served as caretaker of Crooksville Cemetery for thirty years. After his retirement from that position, he worked at the Value Auto Auction south of Crooksville. He was an avid horseman, spending countless hours riding his beloved horse, Hank and enjoying nature on his road trips. Jim had shared the love and companionship of some great dogs, especially Sheena and Luke.
Jim is survived by his former wife, companion and mother of his children, Meredith Laucota Redmond of Crooksville; his children, Laura and Marty Redfern of Roseville, Kimberly Royse of Pomona, California, Morgan and Renee Redmond of Duncan Falls and Jack and Claudia Fife of St. Louis, Missouri and 11 grandchildren. He was a devoted father, grandfather and a great friend to many.
Family and friends will be received for a celebration of Jim's life 6-8 PM, Friday, April 26 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE.
Jim gave himself as a gift to medical research by donating his body to Ohio State University Division of Anatomy in ColumbuS.
