John Michael Moore

John Michael "Mike" Moore, 70, of Crooksville, passed away at 6:20 AM Thursday, April 7,2011, at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born September 2, 1940 in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of the late Leroy "Sleepy" and Margaret Shields Moore.

Mike formerly worked as a professional masonry contractor, a foreman for the Ohio Ferro Alloy Corporation, worked for Don Perdue Builders and was Maintenance Supervisor for Perry County Metropolitan Housing Authority in Roseville.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Duncan A. and Kerrie Moore of Elizabeth City, NC. and John(Ben) and Jennifer Moore of Catawba Island, Ohio; four grandchildren, Tyler, Trent, Hannah and Sydney; two brothers, Pat Moore of Blue Rock and Andy Moore of Camden, Maine.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Connie Hoodlet Moore who died April 8, 2009.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST, CROOKSVILLE, OHIO.

The family would like to give special thanks to all caregivers, doctors and nurses of both Genesis Health Care and Hospice and home health care workers, Molly White, Florence Rudder, Theresa Pitcock and Molly Miller of Crooksville.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mike's memory to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care, 713 Forest Ave., Zanesville, Ohio 43701-9836. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
