Joseph Michael "Little Joe" Yonis, Jr., 46, of St. Rt. 37E, Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 8:15 A.M, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness.
Joe was born August 22, 1964 in Wooster, the son of Joseph M. and Betty Groves Yonis, Sr. of Crooksville.
He was a former logger and over-the-road truck driver. Joe was a member of the Church of Christ in New Lexington. He loved dirt track racing, four wheeling and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Yonis is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Candy Wilson Yonis; his sons, Joseph Michael Lee Yonis of Zanesville and Jacob Yonis of the home; his brother and sister-in-law, Edwin & Sheila Yonis of Crooksville; three grandchildren, Cameron, Dillon, and Rylee.
Joe was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Gregory Wilson.
The Yonis family will receive visitors 2-4 & 6-8 PM, Monday, June 20, 2011 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Joe's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 21 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Rehobeth Cemetery.
