Kathryn Louise Cornett, 86, of Crooksville, Ohio passed away at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 3, 2012 at Helen Purcell Home in Zanesville following a brief illness.
Lou was born December 7, 1926 in Cadiz, Ohio the daughter of the late Chester William and Susie Anna Thompson Howell.
She was a homemaker and Methodist by faith. Lou was a member of VFW 9090 Auxiliary, Eagles Lodge 1979 and American Legion 222 Auxiliary, all of Crooksville.
Mrs. Cornett is survived by her daughters, Karen (Hugh) Cunningham of Sego; Teresa (Louis) Blake of Adena and Sheila Brown of Crooksville; her sons, Carl (Leresa) Conaway of New Concord and Jay (Vickie) Conaway of Zanesville; her brother, Melvin (Louella) Howell of Jewett; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren on the way.
In addition to her parents, Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer R. Cornett who passed away May 16, 1998; her son, James Conaway; her sisters, Dorothy Watson, Margie Murphy, and Doris Kazelman; her brother, Cloyd Howell and two great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received 2-6 PM, Sunday, January 6 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE where VFW 9090 Auxiliary will hold services at 6:00 PM. Funeral services and a celebration of Lou's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 7 at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Penrod officiating. Burial will follow in Iliff Cemetery at McLuney.
