Kelly G. Schooley, 61 of New Lexington died 4:00 PM, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Pickering House following a lengthy illness. He was born September 12, 1950, in Zanesville the son of Helen M. Schooley and the late James H. Schooley. Kelly was a veteran of the United States Air Force and enjoyed sports of all kinds. In his youth he and his brother pitched a perfect game. He enjoyed woodworking and was a talented artist.

In addition to his mother, Kelly is survived by three children: Shane Harris of Crooksville, Clay Schooley of Thornville and Natalie & Gary Wick of Marietta; seven grandchildren: Gage Harris, Avery McKelvey, Gunnar & Remington Wick, Gary, Ariana & Chloe Wick; ten brothers and sisters: Lori Antonetz of South Zanesville, Beth Harper of Crooksville, Mary & Mike Lundell of Roseville, Michael J. & Mary Schooley of Roseville, George A. Schooley of Crooksville, Craig & Dawn Schooley of Corning, Paul L. & Marge Schooley of White Cottage, David L. & Claire Schooley of Sacramento, CA, James & Karen Schooley of Merrill, WI, Andrew J. & C.J. Schooley of Sacramento, CA, John S. Schooley of Crooksville, Matthew Schooley of Nashport, Danny J. Schooley of Zanesville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his father, Kelly was preceded in death by one sister: Susan Schooley and one sister-in-law: Linda Schooley.

Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Goebel Funeral Home, Buckeye Street, Crooksville where funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM with Fr. Dury officiating. A caring cremation will take place and burial will follow at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Pickering House Hospice, 2825 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH 43130 in Kelly's memory.
