Linda Lou Potts, 69, of Crooksville joined the choir of Angels in the Kingdom of Heaven in the morning hours of Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Genesis Morrison House following a brief illness.
She was born one of eight children to the late Roy and Bessie (Martindale) Higgins on March 20, 1952.
What to say about Linda? Well, she was truly, fully, and most definitely a devoted and steadfast Mother to all. She never put herself first, like-ever, selfless till the end. She always gave the best life advice and would, on occasion, tell you exactly where you should put something or rather, where you should remove something. It was her ornery sense of humor and authentic compassion that her family will most assuredly miss.
Her family misses her beautiful singing voice, tennis always on her TV, her passionate rooting for the Buckeyes (regardless of the sport) and her well-earned title as World’s Best Cook.
She was a stalwart family woman, a wife who loved her husband, a loyal grandmother and a proud GiGi. In her last days she left some powerful advice to those remaining on this mortal coil. . .
“It is so important to look at each other’s heart and not what we may or may not do. The world would be so much better if we would simply let our heart, love their heart”
Surviving Linda in life are her children; Misty (Al) Smith, Jennifer Potts and Samuel (Nikita) Potts; her sister and best friend, Karen (Keith) Bell; her siblings, Terry Higgins, Bob (Alice) Higgins and Paul (Ann) Higgins; her grandchildren, Ryan Wintgens, Seth Wintgens, Ethan Wintgens, Noah Wintgens, Dirk Potts and Pyper Potts; her great-granddaughter, Anastasia Claire Wintgens; her sisters-in-law, Mollie Potts, Janet (Gary) Sharkey and Sharon Potts, as well as her dear friends, Gera Pompey and Lee Murphey. Linda also leaves behind a host of others, especially her beloved adopted children who all affectionately called her “Mom” and her many and much-loved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, welcoming Linda, into eternal life are her adoring husband, Raymond Potts, her siblings, Roy Ed Higgins, Ruth Ann Daley, Judith Darlene Higgins; her brother-in-law, Arthur Potts, and her mother and father-in-law, Harry and Ina Lemity.
Friends and family are welcomed to pay their respects from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM, Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville, as well as from 11:00 am, Monday, January 31, 2022, until the start of funeral services at 1:00 PM where Pastor Tony Richard will be eulogizing. Committal services will follow in Zion Cemetery.
Linda would appreciate you being kind to her allergies and instead of sending flowers, send a memorial donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Expressions of sympathy may be posted on the funeral home’s website. Viewing of her memorial tribute video may be found on the funeral home’s website www.goebelfuneralhome.com.
