Malinda Mary "Lindy" Neff, 90, of Columbus, formerly of Crooksville, peacefully passed away at 12:24 AM, Friday, December 26, 2014 at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Columbus.
Lindy was born May 3, 1924 in Roseville, the daughter of the late, Stuart and Lois Moore Cann.
She was a member of the Maple Avenue Christian Church in Crooksville where she was a fifty year member of its choir, a former member of Fidelis Mother's Club, the American Legion Post #222 Auxiliary and the former Worthy Matron of Order of The Eastern Star.
Lindy is survived by her daughters, Diane Neff of Crooksville, Cynthia (Bob) Scott of Gahanna and Nancy Rodriguez of Columbus; her son, James Neff of Columbus; her grandchildren, Olivia and Malinda Scott, Jordan and Sophia Rodriguez, Michelle Neff and James Holt and Nikki (Ryan) Booth; her sister-in-law, Jean Cann of Zanesville and her brother-in-law, Joe Neff of New York.
In addition to her parents, Lindy is preceded in death by her husband, William Tharp Neff who passed away, October 1, 1997; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Eunice and Leo Burgess and Kathryn and Julius Elish and her brother, Charles Cann.
Friends and family will be received 12:00 PM-2:00 PM, Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Lindy's life will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Larry Taylor officiating. Lindy will be laid to rest in Crooksville Cemetery beside her husband, William.
Contributions may be made in Lindy's name to Maple Avenue Christian Church, 112 Maple Ave., Crooksville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
