Mark S. Neff, 68, of Roseville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 1, 2014 following an extended illness.
Mark was born November 18, 1945 in Zanesville, the son of the late Charles and Marie Stout Neff.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, was a member of the Zanesville American Legion Post # 29 and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cannelville. Mark enjoyed playing cards with his many friends at the Legion and playing bingo at the senior center.
Mark is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Sharon Neff of Roseville; his step-daughter, Vicki Moore of New Lexington; his step-sons, Tom and Holly Sharkey of Crooksville and Gary and Janet Sharkey of Tri-Delphia; his grandchildren, Shantae and Matt Smith, Tyler and Courtney Moore, Sonia and Michael Pease, Zeb and Gloria Sharkey, Samantha and Grant Shinn and Angela and Chuck Burns; his great-grandchildren, Shae, Shyler, Gage, Abby and Clayton; his special nieces and nephews, Becky Karom, Susan Rosenburger, Tommy Jo Crowder, Robbie Zellar and Aaron Sherrick.
In addition to his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Wilson Neff who passed away December 9, 2008; his sisters, Collene Gillion and Peg Johnson; his step-daughter, Paula Sharkey and his step-son, Sam Sharkey.
Friends and family will be received, 4:00-7:00 PM, Monday, August 4, 2014 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Mark's life will be Tuesday, August 5th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Arthur Potts officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill cemetery.
