Mary M. Sparks

Mary M. Sparks, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, at the age of 87. 

She will be dearly missed by her children, Cheryl (Tom) Hitchcock, Tina (John) Loomis, James (Renee) Sparks, and Chris (Kellie) Sparks; her many grandchildren, Angie (Brian) Watts, Lisa (Rick) Fulkerson, Kristi (Chad) Smith, Kellie (Joe) Wolfe, Mary Ann (Tom) Snyder, Christopher (Alexis) Sparks and Caden Sparks; her great-grandchildren, Mariah (Luke) Hahn, Nick (Maddy) Watts, Hanna Fulkerson, Mylie Fulkerson, Sean Snyder, Calvin Snyder, Nolan Snyder, Kami Loomis, Kailen Myers, Silas Myers, Jordy Wolfe, Sydney Smith, Larkin Smith, and Parker Smith; her great-great-grandchildren, Gatlin Faith Hahn and Briar Andrew Watts; as well as her brother, Harry (Marsha) Ashley; and her special friend, Joyce Harper.

Mary found joy in spending time with her family, whether it was attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events or working on her beloved crochet projects and puzzles. Her caring nature and warm smile will forever be remembered by those who knew her.

Mary dedicated over 25 years of her life working at Glasfloss before retiring, forming lasting friendships and a reputation for hard work and dedication.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Sparks; her parents, Harry and Mary (Shipley) Ashley; her sisters, Harriet Trussell, Paulene Hall, Caroline Howdyshell, Charlotte Young, Marsha Stallings, and Jeniveve Ashley; and her brother, Jim Ashley.

In honor of Mary's memory, her family invites all friends and loved ones to join them in paying their last respects and celebrating her remarkable life. May her legacy of love and warmth live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

A public viewing will be held at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye Street, Crooksville, Ohio, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, starting at 11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Larry Taylor and Richard Young as celebrants. Mary will be laid to rest in Iliff Cemetery.
