Maureen (Severns) Roop

Maureen Roop, 90, of Crooksville, Ohio, formerly of Worthington went to be with the Lord at 12:09 PM, Friday, March 30, 2018 at The Oaks at Northpointe in Zanesville following a brief illness.

She was born February 10, 1928 in Dresden.

Maureen was a homemaker.  She was a member of First Hope United Methodist Church and Coffee Cup Bible Study both in Crooksville.  She enjoyed gardening, painting, jewelry making, quilting, sewing, crocheting and many other craft activities.

Maureen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and William Kane of Powell; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Christy Roop of Crooksville; her granddaughters, Courtney (Donovan) Kennedy and Mackenzie Roop; her great grandchildren, Diashya T. Hamlin, Matthew J. Hamlin and Jayden M. Fox and her beloved kitty, Stockings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Roop who passed away November 6, 2006 and her grandson, Matthew D. Hamlin.

Family and friends will be received 3:00-8:00 PM, Monday, April 2, 2018 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville.  Funeral services and a celebration of Maureen's life will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 3 at the funeral home with Rev. Gay E. Blau officiating.  Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery in Lockbourne.
