Merribelle Wheeler, 72, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 4:41 AM, Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster following an extended illness.

She was born December 30, 1944 in Pedro, Ohio, the daughter of the late John Harry and Mary Ervin, Jr..

Merribelle was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid bingo player.

She is survived by her husband of 16 years, David Wheeler; her daughter, Lisa Kinney of New Lexington; her sons, Frederick (Lenna) Kinney of Corning and Charles E. Kinney, Jr. (Teresa Redfern) of New Lexington; her step daughters, Tammy Thorp and Frances White; her grandchildren, Jodie Newell (Loretta Waller), Kim (John) Vickroy, Amber Kinney (Sunny Munyon), Raymond Kinney (Jordan Michael), Frederick Kinney III (Kristin Cheney), Angel Kinney (Jamie Thompson), Maria Randall, John (Cindy) White, Sr. and Ashley Holsinger; and her great grandchildren, Danielle West, Layla and Lorenzo Kinney, John White, Jr., Damian and Landon White, Orion and Gage Stiltner, Zoey Hall and Aubrey and Lacey Semler.

In addition to her parents, Merribelle was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Elmer Kinney, Sr.; her son, James Roger Kinney; her grandson, Frederick Kinney II; her sisters, Nancy Cooperider, Wanda Crockett, and Betty Ervin and her brother, John Ervin.

Family and friends will be received 3:00-7:00 PM, Friday, December 29 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Merribelle's life will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home with Donald Chevalier officiating. Merribelle will be cremated following the services.
