Peggy Jean (Crain) Chevalier

July 27, 1949 — April 25, 2019

Peggy Jean Chevalier, 69, of Zanesville, Ohio, formerly of Crooksville, died at 3:57 PM, Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville following an extended illness.

She was born July 27, 1949, the daughter of the late Taylor and Erma (Dennis) Crain.

Peggy was a 1968 graduate of Crooksville High School.  She was a former employee of Robinson-Ransbottom Pottery in Roseville where she worked as a finisher. Peggy also worked for Frames’ Market in McLuney where she could be found behind the meat counter. She dearly loved her family and most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Peggy had no greater source of joy than quality time spent with her darling grand and great-grandchildren, fostering a close relationship with them was her ultimate goal as a grandmother. Peggy had a deep love for God and enjoyed worship services as a member of Word of God Community Church in Ironspot.  She had a real passion for drawing.

Peggy is survived by her daughters, Christy (Jeff) Chambers of Adamsville and Lisa (Scott) Luman of Zanesville; her son, Bobby (Heather) Richmond of Moxahala; her sisters, Kathy Gilvin, Ellen Crain, Roxanne Dunkle and Angie Abram; her beloved grandchildren,  Misti Dawn Brown (Shawn), Jacob Levi Brown, Kaylee Jean Brown (Brad), Samantha Renee Luman (Alex), Samantha Kaye Richmond, Emma Jean Richmond, Bobby Lee Richmond, III, Aliyah Lexis Richmond, Madison Danielle Raver, Allison Rose Raver and Abigail Grace Raver and her great-grandchildren, Kane, Shawna and Braylee.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobbie Lee Richmond; her son, Billy Joe Richmond; her brother, Jimmy Crain; her brother-in-law, Neal Gilvin and her nephew, Jeff Gilvin and her lifelong friend, Shelby Gene.

Family and friends will be received 10:00 AM until noon on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville where funeral services and a celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at 12:00 noon with Pastor Marc Caton officiating.  She will be buried next to her son, Billy at Mt Horeb Cemetery near Crooksville.
