Richard J. "Rick" Buckley

Richard J. "Rick" Buckley, 56, of Crooksville passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 at his home following an extended illness.

He was born April 20, 1961 in Zanesville, the son of Dalton Buckley and Judy Allen Hamilton both of Crooksville.

Rick was a former employee for Mahle Engineering Co. in McConnelsville. He was an avid Ohio State fan and enjoyed watching any sports events, especially football. Rick took great pride in his game winning 1977 Crooksville Ceramic State Championship touchdown. But Rick had an even greater pride watching his son, Brodie and his daughter, Kia enjoying their favorite sports.

In addition to his parents, Rick is survived by his wife, Misty Dobbins Buckley of Zanesville; his daughters, Sonia (Michael) Pease of Crooksville, Kia Buckley of Zanesville; his son, Brodie Buckley of Zanesville; his sister, Lisa Buckley of Columbus; his brothers, Randy (Heidi) Buckley of Nashport and Rod (Lori) Buckley of Marysville; his granddaughters, Lily and Gracie Pease and his grandson, Bryson Buckley; his step-father, Pete Hamilton; his mother-in-law, Judy Gillogly of Zanesville; his sister-in-law, Judy Buckliew of Zanesville; his very special best friends, Dow Cannon, his Uncle Paul Dorsey and all of the guys at Mahle and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received, 4:00 PM-8:00 PM, Monday, November 6, 2017 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Rick's life will be 12:00 PM, Tuesday, November 7 at the funeral home with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery.
