Ruth Ellen McClain, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 12, 2024, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. Born on August 8, 1949, in Zanesville, Ohio, Ruth Ellen was a cherished member of her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ruth Ellen McClain dedicated her life to her family and career. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband of many years, Robert McClain. Together, they shared a bond built on love, support, and countless cherished memories. As a mother, Ruth's love knew no bounds. Her children, Sherrie Norris and the late Corey Lewis, held a special place in her heart, and Ruth always found joy in being a guiding light and unwavering support for her children throughout their lives.
Ruth was a dedicated office administrator for Cerco, LLC., for nearly forty years. Her commitment to excellence and impeccable organizational skills made her an invaluable asset to her colleagues and the company. Ruth's determination and work ethic served as an inspiration to those around her, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ruth cherished her relationships and valued the time spent with her friends. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as shopping trips with her dear friend Micky Williams and indulging in lunch dates with her friends, Trina Carr and Anita Everson.
Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be cherished by her surviving relatives. Her memory will forever be held dear by her spouse, Robert McClain, her daughter, Sherrie Norris (Russ McDonald), and her caring brother, Steve Jeffers, along with her sister-in-law, Holly Jeffers. Ruth's impact extended to her extended family, including her beloved grandchildren, Kayla Lewis, Sophia (Cobe) Hina, Joshua Lewis, Justin Lewis, Jordan Lewis, and Jayden Lewis, as well as her great-grandchild, Lorenzo Coccoa. She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephew, Valerie Worthington, Heather Chapman, and Steve Jeffers.
The family wishes to invite friends, relatives, and community members to honor and celebrate the life of Ruth Ellen McClain. The funeral service will be held at Goebel Funeral Home on February 16, 2024, at 12:00 pm, with a public viewing preceding the service, beginning at 10:00 am. Ruth will be buried in Crooksville Cemetery following funeral services.
Ruth will forever be remembered for her compassion, grace, and unwavering love. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and warmth that she brought into the world.
