Scott Harris, 66 of New Lexington, Ohio, formerly of Crooksville died at 7:05 AM, Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville.
He was born August 17, 1954 in Zanesville, the son of Howard Harris of New Lexington and the late Norma (nee: Smith) Harris.
Scott was a 1972 graduate of Crooksville High School. He served his country in the US Army 1972-1975. He was a former employee of Superior Fibers in Bremen, Glasfloss in Lancaster and finally retired from PCC Airfoils in Crooksville. Scott was a member of New Lexington Eagles 2070 and American Legion Post 376 in Junction City. His leisure time was spent fishing, hunting, working crossword puzzles, playing lottery tickets, enjoying Ohio State and 49ers football and drinking beer.
In addition to his father, left behind to mourn Scott’s passing is his wife of 15 years, Peggy (nee: Wollenberg) Harris; his children, Jamie (Martin) Stoneburner, Jessica Harris, Shayne (Amy) Harris and Mason Cannon (Shannon Danielson); his grandchildren, Gage (Melanie) Harris, Slade (Payge) Stoneburner, Emmah and Ellah Stoneburner, Aleigh Thornton, Tavyn Hains, Colt and Case Cannon and his great-grandchildren, Kinsley Stoneburner, Memphis and Gage Harris; and his siblings, Jill Harris and Chris Harris.
In addition to his mother, Scott was preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Harris; his sister-in-law, Marty Harris; his step-daughter, Ashton Cannon and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Shirley Wollenberg.
Following private family visitation, Scott will be cremated.
