Thelma G. Riggs

Thelma G. Riggs, 92, of Roseville, Ohio passed away at 7:30 PM, Monday, March 21, 2011 at Clay House in Zanesville following an extended illlness.

She was born July 29, 1918 in Meigs County, the daughter of the late Wallie and Mary C. Hill Cottrill.

Thelma was a homemaker and a former employee of Essex Wire in Zanesville. She is a member of First Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville, Helen Wortman Circle and United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Riggs is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Elaine Riggs of Crooksville; her grandchildren, Debbie(Lance)Vallee, Jeff(June)Dennis, Jim(Barbie)Dennis, Jason(Malinda)Dennis, Ronald Riggs, and Jennifer Young; her great grandchildren, Nena(Joe)Startare, D.J.(Azalyn)Vallee, Tyler Dennis, Ashley Dennis, Eleena Dennis, Jaden Dennis, Cara Dennis, Lane M. Riggs, Sara Riggs, Maddie Young and Harry Young,II.; her great great grandchildren, Rosella Startare and Brayson Hill and many special neices and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Arnold Riggs, who passed away October 11, 2000; her daughter, Nancy Dennis; her son-in-law, Al "Junior" Dennis; her sister, Beulah Hill and her brothers, Merrill Cottrill and Jon Cottrill.

The Riggs family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, March 23 at GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST, CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Thelma's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 24 at the funeral home with Rev. Gay E. Blau officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville.
