Theodore M. Graybill, 83, of Roseville (Ironspot), Ohio died at 4:57 PM, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 20, 1935 in Fisher, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Harold ‘Sparky’ and Vera (Moore) Graybill.
Ted was gifted with a talent for playing unique instruments, such as the omnichord and the bagpipes. He was also one to carry a tune, singing to his family, even until the end of his life. Ted served his fellow masonic brothers during their funeral services by singing and playing masonic dirges.
Ted graduated from high school in Clarion, PA and went on to study for two years at Clarion State College. He then served his country in the United States Army in the early 1960’s. He was fourth generation in the lumber business, serving as President of Graybill Hardwood Lumber Co., Inc in Roseville. Ted was a Deacon, past Sunday school superintendent and member of the choir of Roseville Presbyterian Church. Ted’s numerous memberships include: Secretary of Roseville Lions’ Club for fifteen years, life member of American Legion Post #71 in Roseville, member of Moose Lodge #101 in Clarion, PA. He was very active in Masonic Lodge activities having been raised in Roseville Lodge #566 which later merged with Doric Lodge 172 of Deavertown. Ted was past Master for the Lodge four times, PDEO of the 18th Masonic District, exalted in Zanesville Chapter #9 in 1981, HP in 1986 and 1991, appointed DDGHP in 1992, P.I.M. Zanesville Council #12, R & SM in 1992, P.C. Cyrene Commandrey #10, Kt 1985 and 1995, PRWM Mark Warehime Mk Lodge #3, member of Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite, Ohio Priory #18 KYCH, Amrou Grotto # 45 Monarch 1991-92, Aladdin Temple AAONMS-Zavi Shrine Club, Knight Masons of Ireland-Past E.C. 1993, Southeast Ohio Council #119 AMD- PS 1994, Knight of the Red Branch of Eri, PP Roseville Chapter OES, PWS Rosa Shrine #8, PRP Order of Amaranth Court # 36, Galilean Tabernacle No. XXIII-Holy Royal Arch, Knight Templar Priests, active member and treasurer of Ohio Lodge of Research and Ohio Chapter of Research and numerous other masonic bodies. In addition, Ted was a life member of the Roseville Historical Society
Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Barbara (Stromyer) Graybill; his daughter, Michelle Graybill of Roseville (Ironspot); his sons, Jeff Graybill (Beth), Theodore L. Graybill, all of Ironspot and Michael (Brenda) Graybill of Zanesville; his sister, Ann Graybill of Strattonville, PA; his brothers, Don (Patty) Graybill of Bradford, PA and Sam Graybill of Fisher, PA; his grandchildren, Jay, Josh, Mike and Ryan; and his great-grandchildren, Sage and Harper.
In addition to his parents, Ted is preceded in death by his infant daughter and his sisters, Bonnie Summerville and Alice Mills.
Friends and family will be received 2:00 PM-8:00 PM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Full military honors will be presented be at 2:30 PM and a Masonic Service will be at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 8:00 PM with Rev. Terry Timson officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Doric Lodge in Deavertown. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
