Thomas E. "Tom" Love

Thomas E. "Tom" Love, 62, of Crooksville passed away surrounded by his loving family at 4:55 PM, Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio.

Tom was born November 16, 1951 in Lancaster, the son of Loretta Snider Love and the late Warden Love.

He spent his childhood on the family farm in Junction City and was a 1970 graduate of New Lexington High School. Tom retired from Meritor (Rockwell) in 2011 as a machine operator, he was a very active member of the First Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville, he loved working in his yard, riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, hunting and fishing. Tom was a great friend and joy to all who knew him.

Tom is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Kris Allwine Love; his mother, Loretta Snider Love of New Lexington; his son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Karen Love of Crooksville; his daughters and sons-in-law; Mandy and Rod Sprankle of Crooksville and Jennifer and Dave Graham of Zanesville; ; his grandchildren, Kayci, Austin and Gage Love, Ashley Clark, Josh, Clay, Madison, Ethan and Eli Sprankle, Ross Theisen, Hayden, Katelyn and Karlie Graham; his sister and brother-in-law Linda and Merle Sheumaker of Somerset; his special niece, Tammy and Keith Smith of Laurelville; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ormond and Hilda Allwine and his sisters-in-law, Lynn Friend and Natalie Allwine.

In addition to his father, Tom is preceded in death by his infant brother, Jimmy Love.

Friends and family will be received, 3:00 PM-8:00 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the GOEBEL FUNERAL HOME, 36 N. BUCKEYE ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services and a celebration of Tom's life will be at 11:00 AM, Friday May 9th at the funeral home with Rev. Gay Blau and Rev. Bill Snider officiating. In keeping with Tom's wishes, a dignified cremation will take place.

A special thank you to Dr. Bruce and Dr. Tencza's nursing, respiratory and support staff in Fairfield Medical Center's ICU department; to our OSU James "family", Drs. Maffett-Bruce, Teknos, Blakaj and Savvides; all physician assistants, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, registered nurses and support staff. God Bless all of you.

Thanks to our wonderful neighbors and many friends who have always been there to surround us with their help, prayers and love.
