Timothy Eugene Moore, 78, of Crooksville, Ohio passed from this life to his Eternal Life at 10:52 AM, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Kobacker House Hospice in Columbus with his beloved family by his side.
He was born Friday, October 11, 1946, in Zanesville, the son of the late William Moore and Emily (nee: Smith) Moore Agin.
Tim was a member of the Crooksville High School Class of 1965. He enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and was very proud of his military service. He was a member of the Crooksville American Legion Post 222 and VFW Post 9090, Crooksville-Roseville. While still in the military, he married his high school sweetheart, Sally Brown, and they began their family life together. After his tour of duty ended, they settled back home in Crooksville. Tim held many jobs over the years. He was employed at Peabody Coal Company for 20 years where he studied very hard to become a fire boss. For a time, he and Sally owned and operated a local establishment called ‘Tim’s Tavern’. He then was employed at Diebold in Hebron from which he retired. Tim was very devoted to giving back to his community through his volunteer work as Crooksville Ceramic Booster President and he coached little league baseball and cross-country sports for many generations, including his own children and grandchildren. He was a devoted member of the former Church of The Atonement Catholic Church in Crooksville. In addition, Tim spent many years as a member of Crooksville Village Council, serving and helping to better his community, as well as serving the Crooksville Village Fire Department for many years. Tim was an avid runner, running many 5K and 10K races and marathons. He also enjoyed golfing with his buddies. An avid sports fan, Tim was a huge Cincinnati Reds fan and would never let an inning go unwatched. He was a tried-and-true fan of the Cleveland Browns, being loyal to them through many rough seasons. His love for sports helped him cope with the loss of his dear wife, Sally, they gave him hope and comfort in the times where he felt much grief. Tim taught his family about friends, family and faith. He was kind and loving, a devoted family man and he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
